 ema\n\n"Social Media for Large Class Teaching and Learning" \n\nhalten, abs
 chließend können diese Techniken und deren Einsatzmöglichkeiten an den Univ
 ersitäten in der Lehre, der Weiterbildung und auch in der Industrie, z.B. b
 ei Produktvorstellungen diskutiert werden. \n\nDer Vortrag wird im Institut
  für Informatik, Universität Rostock, in Raum 001, Albert-Einstein-Straße 2
 2 (Südstadt) stattfinden.\n\nEin detailliertes Abstract zum geplanten Vortr
 ag ist hier zu finden:\n\nThe talk will report on an experiment on using a 
 dedicated social media in teaching motivated by the following challenges of
  today's higher education:\n\nHeterogenous audiences, large class sizes in 
 introductory courses, preeminence of frontal (or lecturer-centered) instruc
 tion, passive student audiences, tight state control of teaching and examin
 ations, and rare, incomplete, and unpublished assessments of learning and t
 eaching performances. The talk will first introduce the social media Backst
 age as well as novel teaching formats.\n\nThen it will report on an evaluat
 ion of the approach to teaching and on the evaluation's findings: Backstage
  can foster interactivity and awareness when used in combination with a tea
 ching format encouraging lecture-relevant communication and the students ap
 preciate Backstage.\n\nFinally, the current research focus on the project w
